Yup. Mind you, you can get OTHER kinds of protections I think – trademarks and such, or if you have a company, you can keep concepts / ideas *from* others outside of it, so that’s a way to profit from it. Plus, any publications (works) are copyrighted by you.

If I had a novel equation or concept, I’d print it up on T-Shirts and sell it at Universities along with a companion book and do a Ted talk or something. Make more $$ that way.
