What have universities always produced? A “civilized class”.

How do you get a “better-civilized class” of people? Conformity to norms.

Factories. They’ve always been that.

What you’re seeing now is TWO parallel ideas of what a “civilized class” should be like.

Conservative universities, of which there are plenty, have one vision. Liberal arts universities, of which the extremes get the most flak from the right, have another.

But there’s a third class, a crass class and that comes from the underbelly of business politics. “Nouveau riche” is what they used to be called.

That’s who’s in charge of everything now, not the blue blood Connecticut or Georgia families.

But that’s *my* independent thoughts. You’ve been around long enough to know I’m not wrong about this either.

I’m just trying to shift away from regurgitated thought patterns, “liberals destroying civilization” stuff and peel below the surface. I mean, if you can easily find a popular Youtube expressing your opinions, I wouldn’t consider that all too independent.
