You know, that random ideal called a market does get the credit and blame for far too much I think. It seems to have the status of a Greek god or goddess, given a personality and traits, actions it performs that are just slightly beyond human comprehension, etc.

Indeed, although the narrative of the man-who-goes-it-alone that ignores the social aspects of life (and the market is a social function like family or neighborhoods or marriage) is as much of an easy scapegoat when the culprit ends up being ‘ social conditions’, which one might as well call ‘the market’.

although come to think of it, how many things can serve the same purpose without any change? market? social conditions? randomness? shit? {as in: shit happens}? Hm.
