I’m GenX. No, GenX was a broken generation. Something severely wrong with them. There was far more violence of kinds you don’t hear about anymore.
Remember, there were NO CAMERAS.
Girl or boys shows up to school looking like something significant was gone out of their eyes – you knew something happened. Didn’t always find out what. Bad stuff happened.
Bad stuff still happens. But there’s more cameras around.
Bad minded people maybe are a little more cautious now. Reporting crimes a little less of a problem now. People believe victims a tiny bit more now. I don’t think it’s a HUGE shift – I don’t look at the stats. But people having their OWN cameras on their phones to instantly citizen report stuff has been such a huge help here. I get nervous when schools take phones away. They want to go back. That’s not such a wise idea.
