^You CAN teach a 6 year old chess – pretty much any game ('cause kids brains are wired for games) but be prepared when they want to play "1/2 my way and 1/2 your way" : suddenly, my captured pieces became shadow pieces who were indestructable protectors of his pieces, sword fights and more. He'll probably get bored with it in no time, but it'll be familiar to him if it comes up in the future in school or something. 2011 at 8:15pm EDT^^
