Yes. What I like to do in when I see “examples of [x]” is I want to see “the whole list”.
So I look around for the most complete list I can find, in this case, a database of “properties” of pure materials used by materials science professionals, rather than short lists made for students.
I did the same thing when I wanted to find every neurological system process as seen from a geneticist point of view. So the Gene Ontology Database, with some searching and poking around and reasoning things through, I was able to compile a list, even for non-human species.
I didn’t think it was possible to get an exhaustive list for-all-time — but I knew it was possible to get a relatively authoritative list for 2014 or whenever I did it.
