Yes, I’m fine with that and I think that’s great. Scouts that decided to go into the military afterwards made sense for many and i know the whole thing was based upon military ranking from its inception. But…. Hearing it explicit like that pisses me off because in my mind, all through my Scouting experiences, the idea of becoming a good citizen, which was enforced and reinforced, was more of a central goal and I never felt that I was part of a recruitment strategy by the US military – even though I knew in the back of my head that that’s why the military always had tied to the Scouting organization.
