Yes, I understand your angle. It is also Putin’s narrative: Putin is the freedom bringer for the poor Russians trapped under a hostile Ukraine regime and we will stay there to bring peace to the area.
I remember this. It is what Putin has been saying all along and you’re also talking about it.
That’s fine.
But, the attack is across Ukraine from all sides. This is not recovering two regions as that’s already done.
Nobody is helping Ukraine much because they were too politically unstable and did not join NATO or the EU and Russia has nukes and already threatened to use them if anybody interferes.
So yeah. They’re on their own. USA made that clear. So did NATO.

I’ve been listening to Putin’s talk and I translated his Ukaz and I’ve been paying attention to the reasons he has been claiming that he is going in.
You happen to have the same opinions. I’ve noticed several youtubers and podcasters are also expressing similar opinions. That is fine and you can do that.
If that is what you believe, that is fine. But for example, there is no logical reason to take over Cherynobyl if that were the case.
There is no reason to attack from all sides as they are.
This is not liberation of two small areas.

As I was once a member of the Eastern Orthodox Church, I’ve followed a lot of the drama between the various Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox churches on and off for a good 25 years now.
It’s a long time row and Putin’s been there not for all of it — I believe Yeltsin was in charge at first – but then Putin around 1999-2000 and ever since.
This doesn’t make me an authority over Youtube (which didn’t exist yet) but I am aware of a lot of subtleties between them and it goes way back into history.
