Yeah you have different gaps in knowledge than I do as an American educated guy.

Now, *we* learned that England was infested with rats and the plague and fought each other in battles on horseback.

VERY UNFLATTERING picture of England is what we were taught in the USA.

and I think neither one of us were taught about the greatness of Byzantium and how the Dark / Middle ages simply didn’t happen for them.

We’re taught a lot of mythology. A lot of mythology. A lot.

There’s a common myth being taught in the Science promotional shows. The influence of Dawkins finally reached Hawking a few years ago when he decided to declare God non-existent using the same straw-man logic as the other New Atheist group.

And I was *very very* disappointed to hear my buddy Hawking stoop to a level he’s incompetent in.

He may be brilliant with black holes… but he came across as an idiot when he started trying to disprove God. The God he disproved is a God that nobody believes in already A straw God.

Everybody has gaps in their knowledge. Whole civilzations have gaps in their knowledge. Whole Epochs.

But we get cocky just the same. 19th Century Physics all over again… just before Einstein rocked the boat. And really, Einstein wasn’t all that revolutionary to Science except that he popularized it tremendously. Maxwell and Newton and Lorenz still hold more sway, even today.
