yeah i know. I just prefer to place the bulk of responsibility for certain things on the producers of goods.
The reason?
A single seller can make a change that affects thousands or millions of buyers.
Then we ask a thousand or a million buyers to each individually be 100% responsible for many things that were in the control of the seller and not in the buyer.
And if they don’t like it, we say “choose elsewhere”.
Yet, what guarantee is there that the “choice, elsewhere” would be any different or better?
I’m not against the choices in consumerism.
But my beef has long been with the way the corporations won long ago against the buyers.
The day the car makers won the rights of the streets in the USA in the 1920s really changed the landscape of the USA and how we think about the nature of communities.
