WTC brain dump, manhattanhenge – Kenneth Udut almost had to walk down that bridge. whew.

Just looked it up. It’s actually kinda cool. I grew up in NJ – 15 miles as the crow flies from Manhattan – watched the Twin Towers fall with my naked eye from the top of our parking garage at work. lived there 30 yrs – and never heard of Manhattanhenge. Neat smile emoticon

actually that’s a lie. I saw one plume of smoke and one tower standing. I watched it for a couple of minutes, then went back inside, to listen to radios people had pressed up against the glass windows of the office building.

Didn’t see pictures ’til 1pm when I stopped in a local radio shack on the walk home and was like, “woAh. “

I was supposed to be in WTC building 5 (or was it 9? I have the paper somewhere) for Unix training that I didn’t need from Sept 10-15. I convinced my boss to convince my boss’s boss’s boss to get me out of that stupid training.

Good thing too. I probably would’ve had to walk home on that stupid bridge… and 15 miles as the crow flies is NOT 15 MILES street distance.

lol can’t hear “Manhattan” without talking Twin Towers. GenZ just makes fun of the whole thing ’cause they got to grow up hearing their parents being conspiracy theorists and stuff. Hearing, “Let the bodies hit the floor” with repeated videos of the guy’s body hitting the ground who jumped and was caught on film (and by the pavement) synchronized with the beat was oddly therapeutic. Can’t help the guy.
