Worked in pharma. Guy I knew was ex-Phillip Morris marketing. He says, “I’ll tell you everything about you by what you smoke.” I smoked menthol light 100s, didn’t care what brand. “You’re a young woman of African American descent who is confident enough to be beyond brand loyalty and is difficult to market to for this reason”. Close enough.

There’s a lot of words not in vocabulary. “N word” is one. “Sh-thole” is another. M-fing *was* in my vocab for about a year when I was 15 but I got through that phrase.

Being black isn’t a free pass to say it either. There’s social consequences when anybody says it, just different ones.
