Wondering who the mysterious “A Lesne” is that wrote this wonderful paper I’m reading about the Discrete vs Continuous in Physics, I found out. I looked at Google Scholar for other words and, well, I’ll be reading her work for a bit. A lot of advanced but general purpose science writings about “how [field of Science] got here”. Annick Lesne is a Researcher at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques. Her research lies in renormalization methods for dynamical systems, non equilibrium statistical physics, and applications of dynamical systems theory and statistical mechanics to biological systems.

My first read of a paper, I skim for what jumps out.

“Once we have assigned the additional property of time/age to mathematical objects, perhaps its generative process can be modeled.”

Now this is something I’ve been wanting forever.
