Draft/selective service: hard for me to say. They wouldn’t have taken me so it wouldn’t matter, unless they stuck me behind a computer with some special pass. Then, well, whatever, I’d do it.
My older brother decided to join the Navy way back when. Didn’t last long. They wanted to break and reset his jaw in order for his face to fit the standard issue masks. [why do military folks all have the same look? Well, plastic surgery is a part of it].
Anyway, he might’ve been willing to do it, ’til he saw a dude with his jaw wired shut, drinking through a straw. Then he was like, “fuck dat”, got out honorably.
Well, they’re not going to issue custom masks for different faces. Here’s the mask. Your face don’t fit, they change your face. It’s early in the process, enough time to get out. Do they still do that? Probably.
