In _fact_ – this ties in exactly with the OP:
WHY am I so critical about the New Atheist movement?
It’s a radical movement that’s splitting apart reasonable people from each other.
Family feud. New Atheism is going to war. My beliefs aren’t THAT far off from a lot of what new atheism says. But I’m excluded from the party because my views aren’t exact.
Such is Protestantism. Such is extremism. Such is what weakens movements from within. Such is why the OP.
Look at you and me. Our beliefs about things are different. We’re not the same about all of our stances on things, our beliefs aren’t identical. We likely don’t share all of the same heroes.
But we focus mostly on our commonalities and discuss our differences rationally. You don’t want me to become like you. I don’t want you to become like me. I like the diversity. What a boring planet it would be if we had identical outlooks smile emoticon
That being said, I could easily stand behind everything you say and you could likely stand behind everything I say, even if there are nuanced differences.
Yes, bingo. Everybody’s a Hitler except those who say “I agree with you”.
I don’t see New Atheists as Hitlers. But I find myself suddenly painted with a little mustache whenever I raise criticism. I keep trying to wipe off the mustache but they keep painting it back on again.
It’s kinda empowering actually. Heil Udut! Hiel? Hile? I dunno. I was never a Hitler aficionado.
Vote? No need. What democracy? hah.
What departments do you want to be in charge of, Jay? You don’t have to report to me. You also have to handle your own funding.
Any subjects/campaigns of your choosing, you’re in charge. Whole Earth though is preferred, but if you want to restrict to smaller geographical territories you can too.
