While shame is a genetically available emotion for most humans, it’s not available for some. In childhood grooming/socializing, I think girls’ natural shame may be encouraged while boys’ natural shame may be discouraged. Since in any given patriarchal society the man’s word is automatically granted greater validity than the woman’s word, this adds to the split, resulting in everyday gaslighting situations, even by the otherwise well-intentioned (or believe they are).

Example of everyday gaslighting: Roy Moore. Women came forward. Some belief, some gaslighting. But after the male security guard mentioned his being banned from the mall, much more belief.
