Which human invention has caused the most tangible or intangible harm? Explain your reasoning.”
This is difficult for me. For every human invention I consider having caused harm, whether tangible or intangible, I then think of situations where such inventions also did great good or led to great healing.
Perhaps I could consider a category: methods of human torture. It is direct physical harm and very tangible. Yet it is also intangible for the survivors because they carry the burden of the torture with them. It also is a burden upon the practitioners of torture, except for the few that lack a conscience.
[there are those who lack a conscience and those who follow. The ones that follow are able to turn off their conscience in the circumstance but once the circumstances are over, they can be wracked with guilt and shame over their participation in horrible activities, even if the ones (usually at the top) lacking a conscience carry no such burden]
This is the best I can do for an answer.
