When we resolve the cognitive dissonance, we’re resolving it to ‘something’ that’s already there.

However, I tend to believe that when we seem to be _changing_ our worldview, we’re instead *refining* our pre existent worldview and allowing the new information to give it different dimensions, different names, different amplifications and reductions.
