When I look at colors I see the fundamental colors vibrating quickly. I have to ignore it most of the time and as a kid it was very annoying.
I thought I was the only one but one day my nephew tells me a color he saw looks “too faded”. Didn’t know what he meant so we went through the colors ’til we found it and talked about it a bit.
I started showing colors and seeing what colors he sees besides the color that’s there and he described color the same way I see it. Blew me away as it was the first time anybody seemed to see things how I did.
Then I showed some jewel / gem tones (the colors that I think are more the “real colors” and he had said that “yeah, those look right.”
I don’t know if he’s got the musical thing I have (I can’t handle a bunch of people talking at once but I can usually identify all the instruments in a song and mentally track each one separately (or a few at once) when I listen and mentally ‘tune out’ the rest).
But he has that weird color thing I have it seems. Colors are like chords to me. Kind of annoying really as I have to ignore their parts sometimes.
By way of example, these are jewel / gem tones. These look closer to “real colors” to me. Even here they’re a *little* faded / white but they have a very strong fundamental ‘something’ to them, whatever that is.
