“What might be the mirror that the Mind needs to reflect on itself?”
3 time steps.
Experience, Memory split into anticipation and memory (which is forward projected past), then the actual with a comparator.
step 1: Experience
step 2: Memory of experience is also anticipated experience but is a separate input.
step 3: Experience(1) compared with anticipated experience and also compared with memory.
In short, we don’t look into the future. We always only look into the past. One of the two pasts is the anticipated future but it is based solely on the past.
Actual future? We are blind to it.
We drive forwards in life looking into a rear view mirror but we call it “the future”.
The actual driver’s front window is completely blocked but we refuse to look at it as it’s too scary.
