what I’m thinking of is like mathematics symmetry or some kind of balance situation.
With emergence, little things coalescence into bigger things with different properties than when they were little things.
and all the new types of things that emerged can all work together just fine if they emerged at the same time.
But if something emerges later that’s a different type with different properties than the other things that emerged from simpler things earlier, it will throw the emergent level out of balance.
But if the emergent things break up into their constituent parts again and they all reform together with the new type of thing, what emerges will be slightly different than before because it will now include the new emergent type with different properties and for the other things to be in balance with it they all will change slightly, likely being similar and having similar properties than what they’d had before but a little different just the same.
I don’t know if this clarified or made things worse, I dunno.
