But it seems strangely plausible. I also might need some sleep.
awesome – you see exactly what I see. Mind you, I think Trump alone would be crappy as a president but then again, checks and balances is powerful enough to keep even the most dictatorish of dictators from having too much power. But having Sanders as his conscience? It just seems ideal.
“They are both for a very progressive tax, Universal health Care, anti-war or intervention, and I do believe that Bernie has made statements implying he aint down with NAFTA, and what better way to pay for the WALL! than ending NAFTA so we can tariff the ever loving fuck out of the corrupt Mexican government, and corrupt American corporations? It would be a pretty kewl ticket TBQH”awesome – you see exactly what I see. I appreciate the analysis you gave there. Something you might not know about me is that I keep my news-input very very minimal. I see a flash of Sanders here, a flash of Trump there, a bit of Cruz, some Clinton, see memes flashing by and really, the amount of information I have about any of them is surprisingly little, because this part of the political process I try to get as little emotionally involved with as possible.
I’m independent and I *try* to have low bias. Impossible for none though.
The Trump/Sanders – Sanders/Trump, for me had to do with them being dually:
both New York
both travel in very white circles. [Vermont is demographically 94% non-minority white, and Trump travels in uber-rich circles which tend to be mostly non-minority white]
both are “Here’s what I think, so there!” people
both have protectionist rather than globalist economic views.
Both “feel” very parental:
Trump has the “authoritarian dad” feel to him, “tough coach”
Sanders has the youth group leader feel to him, schoolteacher, “nice coach”.
So, that’s really about it, and these are all very surface level impressions I have.
I think you’re right. She’ll make a fine president too. Honestly, I could see any of them working as president. I trust in checks and balances generally, so I could see a Trump or Sanders or Cruz or Clinton presidency and I’ve seen the idealism of the campaign trail give way to “let’s get realistic here” as each president switch roles from campaigner to president and they get their wings clipped by checks and balances: and believe me, I appreciate the system-as-it-exists. It’s slow, clunky, awkward, inefficient to change: just as our founding fathers set it out to be.
