when a lizard here in Florida stares at me and starts its mating dance showing me his red neck flap thing,he sees me as a fellow creature worth doing a mating dance to.—I find most of the tests for what are supposedly “exclusively human” traits such as mirror test and such to be less than spectacular proofs of significant distinction between the consciousness of humans and other creatures.
