Well, I’m trying not to criticize because it’s been a long term beef with Vangelis… but his sounds are very 80s… and I keep wanting him to upgrade his wave tables. He probably can’t hear it and his devoted fans probably would not want it to change – the instruments are the instruments. But I keep wanting to upgrade them.

Maybe it’s not fixable for real-time performance yet. I’ve sat at hundreds of keyboards since the 1980s trying sounds, rarely satisfied with anything.
It’s the attack and release portion I guess. I never analyzed quite why. But I think that’s what it is. I can feel technical limitations of equipment / memory saving tricks, samples that use less bits… sections of the keyboard where they STRETCHED the core note for that section too far and it’s unrealistic…
I mean _I_ can’t fix it. it’s just a pet peeve of equipment in general really I suppose.
Attempting to reproduce his highly customized equipment wouldn’t be feasible nor really worth the money for the slight difference in sound it would make

But yes, they are high quality samples. I’m just always expecting more.
