Well, I won’t go into doctrinal stuff atm although there’s not been development of doctrine so much as a revelation of existing doctrine, the Essence vs Energies being a very powerful example from St. Gregory Palamas, a clarification that, for me, was critical in grasping the seeming paradox of becoming like gods without actually having direct access to the uncreated essence. But, to each their own I suppose. I see the Latin church as the one that split off, you see it as the true one – a 1000 yr old battle as it were.
