We stand on a refuse pile of discarded traditions, many miles high. Some belong in the rubbish pile, some have value and some are necessary. How many generations back does a tradition extend? It all depends I suppose. New traditions form all of the time. Cultural norm coalesce; I see new norms daily forming in every human grouping – some are logical and reasonable, others absurd and still others are dangerous.
