In the USA, we see things from an American-centered point of view. We barely even consider other countries. We tend to compare solely against ourselves.
Homeless in the USA in a major city is practically riches in comparison to living conditions in some places in the world.
I’m grateful I have no personal experience with true poverty. Keeping your head above water is still swimming. We just forget to be grateful for what we have and instead focus on how much more others have.
