We *had* one of the other Bushes once. [Florida]. I didn’t mind him as governor tbh ,even though Im not Republican. [Im not Democrat either]. The guy that followed him I kinda liked. But the new guy? eh. Only if there’s a hurricane, then I’ll be glad he’s there. But otherwise he’s just gaming some system somewhere for Republican votes somehow. Yeah, Rick Scott… I try to forget his name.
I liked him. I dunno why tbh. No idea if he did anything but I guess I liked his personality. [I expect all politicians to be liars/cheats/crooks/etc but at least make me smile while theyre doing it and I dont’ remember anything bad said about him]
But yeah there’s trailer parks still there. I live in Golden Gate Estates other side of town. Lets see, I moved here about 15 years ago. All the dirt roads got paved, then four and six laned. Its now officially a metropolitan area (the whole of Naples).
Everything is still very nice and clean here. Traffic’s improved. Lots of Publix and Wal-Marts here. Teddy Bear Museum closed down about 10 years ago.
I was born a bleeding heart. Revenge of the Nerds was a lifegoal so…
They still do it. My brother’s Mr. Redneck. He moved to Bonita Springs around 1980 and never left. He goes to the swamp buggy races faithfully every year. I think Jungle Larry’s is still open. Buffalo Chips is still there, a little bigger now.
Bonita’s totally changed though. Naples youd recognize.
I tried the redneck ways. Helped him skin a few deer and pigs, set up his tree stand and stuff. But I’m a nerd to the core. Still, I love the weather. I keep my laptop on the back lanai and Im out here as much as I can be.
We’re all from New Jersey though. I’m suburban by raising but I like the quiet out here a lot.
