Using extremes examples to justify one’s behavior? How is that rational?

Childhood forces kids to go through a lot of shit that adults don’t tolerate. It’s not that they’re better at dealing with it, rather they lack the rights that adults have in having some sort of control over their environments.
So, they deal as best they can. Some eventually flourish, some just grin and bear it until the sentence is over, some exit childhood cracked.

Some exit childhood so accustomed to being told what to do, they prefer authoritarian environments with “strong leaders” that can treat them like children, yelling at them when they’re bad, harsh punishments, talking to them like they’re stupid, and rewarding agreement with whatever the leader says.
