Trudy Bentley Rech yes I know number of actual Russians.
I was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church for a few years in the 90s and I can read a little Russian although I can’t speak it well.
i’m in no rush to see the end of the world. We each have our own lifetimes to worry about
I know a lot of Ukrainians at this point too.
i’ve got family in both Russia and Ukraine
I watched on Instagram when Putin was shutting down access and there were so many tears from so many people
but a few weeks later, they learned how to get around the Russian blocks and some of them have come back. illegally but Russia is running on less than empty at this point
The thing is: nobody wants Russian territory
yet they can barely maintain what they have
and they’re going after Ukraine for what? They want to control the bread supply among other commodites
but I think the worst part is re-education of Ukrainian children into Russians
I guess patriotism is a little good for business though: the little kids on Instagram and YouTube and TikTok do little dances and will support either Ukraine or Russia
they get into little battles in the comment sections
they don’t think much about America either way — focused on each other.
we are interesting because we have LeBron James, Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden
but they have their own lives to live
their parents do what they can to keep things normal and going to school and all of that
they try to move into areas where there’s no fighting
but the young people go out to fight to keep their land as long as they can
we are involved
I don’t know whether we should’ve been or not but we are now
with the expansion of NATO now, American committment is clear
I think this is a practice run for a future run in with china to be honest
if we fail ukraine, that tells china the us is toast
I wish Russia never started this
I feel the worst for the Russian soldiers as they are very young and cry
very sad
anyway I am sorry to argue. I never liked US foreign policy.
