Tribology, I learned last year I think (*it’s in my notes and on FB), is the study of friction, in particular stick-slip. This is called biotribology when it’s the human body. It applies to squeaking joints, teeth rubbing together and to skin.

Surface roughness, surface topography, sliding or rotational velocity. I think that will = the aspects of texture I’m interested in for some reason.
