Too Close for Comfort was an 80s sitcom with Ted Knight that is mostly forgettable although at the time you laugh but once in a while there’s something ‘different’. This episode – and I remember it – didn’t end up in syndication later – where the flamboyantly gay neighbor Monroe got raped by two women in the back of a van. Aired in 1985 so I was 13 and I understood it and laughed along with it (because inappropriately timed laugh tracks were a part of the 80s) but I remember feeling bad because Monroe looked hurt and scared.
