to assist effective communication with others towards whatever concepts I’m attempting to convey.

I really do. Like I say, I could nitpick on reflex. But could I do much better than what you did? No.

I think it was Stace who made a good point about categories and the experience of oneness. When you’re in a state of undifferentiation, there’s no self or other, no us and them, no past / present / future.

So when someone comes out of a mystical experience how can you describe it with words? Words require differentiation. If you talk about “this happened in the past”, you’ve created a differentiation between “Now” and “Then”. Two categories. How can you describe a category-less state using categories? Our languages don’t support that very well at all.

So, when people try to describe their experiences they often sound nuts to regular people. How do you use categories to describe a non-category experience? Not easily.

Experiential knowledge is real. That’s how I see it. Is that a belief of mine? Probably. But I accept it as fact.

People sometimes knee-jerk react even to the word mysticism. I hesitate to use it myself for that reason : it can hinder effective communication.

Same reason I hesitate to use the word God most of the time. People bring their own definitions to the table and really, it’s not worth the potential for ineffective communication, so I prefer to avoid the term.

It forces me to ‘dance around’ certain things but I do it in as straightforward a way as I can to assist effective communication with others towards whatever concepts I’m attempting to convey.

Quite true. It conjures up Indigo Children, Namaste, don’t vaccinate your kids, the Green Party, “The Universe Is Guiding Me OMG Pumpkin Spice Latte is in Starbucks again #yay! ” – and so, I try to avoid certain words and phrases. Forces me to be creative in my writing. I like it most of the time.

Be who you are without being constrained by your own self-image. That kind of thing. Yeah, I strive for continual betterment of self. More of who I am but expressed in better ways. I enjoy the challenge.

Same. I like to find who I consider my opposites which helps me further define myself in a broad sense, and find similars to help define myself in the details. Who I am isn’t the roles I play (such as taking a particular stance on an issue) yet through discourse it helps as a mirror for self. I see myself in others and them in me. I feel like a cliche machine now but this is how I earnestly feel about communication.

I’m grateful for your acquaintance as well. I put my all into my online communication because what reflects back always improves me in some way.. and of course I have the hope of improving others as well… but whatever the outcomes, the one outcome that’s guaranteed is my own betterment. That helps act as a foundation for me to boldly step forth and express myself without fear ’cause I won’t be losing myself in the process yet I also get the ongoing opportunity to change myself. Change without loss. It’s amazing how much can occur sitting behind these pieces of glass.
