Thoughts:
IF metastability makes diamonds and is good for brain function and societies but bad for electronics, I should expect to find NEURAL NETWORKS where they INDUCE metastable states in order to replicate natural brain functioning!
Going on to research:Promising!

Here they use a ” Velocity Jump Markov Process” to simulate metastability – now to look up what that is.

“Human neural and behavioral activities have been reported to exhibit fractal dynamics known as 1/f noise, which is more aptly named 1/f scaling. Some argue that 1/f scaling is a general and pervasive
property of the dynamical substrate from which cognitive functions are formed.”

Ok: I think this is a deliberate throwback to “bra-ket” but why not.

Same. Ever since I’ve been saving most of what I write (including this comment I’m writing right now unless something befalls me between copy and paste or prior to finishing), I’ve been able to track actual times where I was meandering around a subject again.
Metastability surprised me as it was in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020 and each time I got there from a different route.

wait.. chua… chua.. chua circuit.. what is that.. why is it ringing bells…

Oh, it has a wikipedia entry: Well THAT would’ve sped things up for me https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metastability_in_the_brain
