This is where someone says a 2009 meme with the words story bro and cool in it…

Back in my religious questing days I spent a few years with the Orthodox church. Almost became a monk. [still might – good enough retirement plan, epicurean community…] Call myself agnostic now to shut people up on both sides.

Now one of my internet Orthodox friends from 20+ yrs ago (back when it was Mailing Lists, Usenet and IRC mostly) who became a priest a while back, is ranting about this.

Oh I agree. I mean back in 2009/2010 there *was* some fishy-pro-faschy stuff happening between European nationalist groups, particularly in Greece and eastern europe but they were connecting with the southern baptists and atheist south rather than with American Orthodox who just do whatever they do.

I think they’re mostly worried about image protection. One bad egg can spoil the bunch type of thing.

Plus, this guy doesn’t help things any. https://www.youtube.com/user/zionget

He’s not a monk but he sure convinces a lot of people — constant thorn in their side.

American nationalism is like American free-masonry… nothing like the European counterparts no matter how hard they try to mystery-it-up.
