This is what happens when politics gets stronger than the science.
There’s politics in everything (sorry purists but it’s true) but it shouldn’t overwhelm as it did in this case. Earth herself (itself?) doesn’t qualify as a planet under their definition of a planet, the same definition used to exclude Pluto as a planet. Therefore, Earth is no longer a planet.
Better idea: Get rid of the stupid dwarf planet idea. Neil deGrasse Tyson? No more politics please.
