this is a load of warmed over platitudes on a plastic plate
This is roleplaying. Pretending. Old fashioned “think yourself rich” for a new, gullible generation who doesn’t see the same ideas have been sold to people at a profit for many decades now.
Zig Ziglar, Norman Vincent Peale, Oprah WInfrey’s “The Secret” – oh there’s many of them.
And it’s not that it’s bad-bad per se.
But it sells books and seminars. That’s why it gets recycled. In today’s world, it gets views and shares and makes money for the creators of these videos (or should else they’re doing it wrong).
No. You have to step back and ask: what’s in it for the person making this video? How are they profiting? Did they identify a market that was willing to consume a certain type of information that will make them profit? Then there’s your answer. And if they’re doing it non-monetized “for free”, find out what they’re gaining.
It’s not that everybody only does things for gain. Altruism is real.
But the questions need asking and answering because between “the message and the media”, the media and it’s related profits are usually the message, not the message.
