Things will just continue as they do.

Starting? Dude, if Trump gets in, he’ll be a Lame Duck President. Who takes over the war policies at that point? All the players that have been doing it for decades. The military. Congress. All of our agencies. Things will just continue as they do.

As if her vote made much of a difference. The war machines carries on regardless. American imperialism isn’t suddenly stopping for four years ’cause there’s a new person sitting in the chair.

I believe it. She’s always been hawkish, but I can’t think of too many politicians that weren’t.

Mind you, I’m not a democrat. Hate politics. Nasty shit. But they’re playing the game anyway – can’t see it changing anytime soon. If we’re stuck with what we got (there’s not going to be a revolution of ‘the people’ just yet) – she’s capable of projecting the voice of the government while also having a bit of social reform as well.

Maverick presidents that don’t understand politics get nothing accomplished.

It’s the only way to keep the dollar the world standard. OPEC and shit. If the PetroDollar switches to become the PetroYen or the PetroRuble, our economy loses stability and we cease to be a world power.

Maybe it should. Maybe it’s time we moved down to fourth place. I dunno.

Dollar’s value is based upon oil surplus trading. The dollars are valuable around the world. Other economies are beholden to the US dollar right now.

It sucks mind you. Part of the push towards alternative energies is to reduce the dependence of our economy on oil. I think we’re getting better at that:

But that’s just for ourselves. If the Ruble becomes the oil standard, they get the stable economy. If the Yen, China does.

I’ve heard we’re now finally energy independent and if we get to a point that the economy isn’t dependent on oil trading for economic stability, then we’ve got our better way.

The push for oil fracking and stuff is so that we an increase our oil exports, JUST IN CASE we’re no longer the standard world money and have to fight like everybody else does, by having enough oil to trade worldwide for a stable economy.

===

That is interesting. From what I understand, and that’s not much, before Nixon changed it to PetroDollars, the dollar was based on Gold and was the world standard since after WW2, because we were barely touched by WW2 and had the most stable economy compared to the others.

===

We were put in charge of the world economy because we have a very stable government, we’re stable trading partners, etc, while other countries are more prone to fluctuate.

But with this crazy election cycle, if the rest of the world thinks we can’t hack it (’cause our own internal problems are too bad), well, maybe it’s time for China to be in charge of things.

====

OPEC. PetroDollars. Why the US Dollar is good around the world (for now). Lose that and the powers that be put China in charge of the oil standard.

Our economy then will fluctuate depending mostly on our ability to export oil to other countries. Hence: fracking, etc.

Me too. I’m just learning this stuff myself, and explaining it has helped me understand it better myself. Hopefully things turn out ok, whoever gets elected.
