things that start improvisation in my head: i’m at aldi’s. i overhear a woman saying a sing song “hel-looo” and i mentally noted its identical to the standard doorbell “ding dong” and chuckled how it serves the same purpose … then a slow and steady march where the start of each 4 beat measure was the dong of “ding dong”. a minor key — funeral dirge almost – like marching together on a long but necessary journey — and each measure was filled with various permutations of the chord like choristers but always ending up on the “dong” of ding dong at the start of every new measure. oddly satisfying mental shopping music for me.
