Thing is, we’ve been living in 1984 since the 1950s – actually probably many decades prior as he didn’t invent it out of whole cloth and it was based on things that started long before the things that started his inspiration started.
It’s like global brain: We’re in it and have been for many years. A fish doesn’t know it’s swimming in water. There’s no way out of it; we were born into it.
