These guys made a SWITCH out

^These guys made a SWITCH out of individual ATOMS! they made a really really skinny needle out of Tungsten, the same wire in incandescent lightbulbs. So skinny, it got down to one atom thick. They took the actual BOND between silicon atoms and flipped it to another silicon atom and switched it, like an on off switch. Imagine a computer made of those tiny switches – they can't really get any smaller. This will change everything. I'm amazed not only that we can do it, but that it's, really, as simple as a tiny needle physically flipping the connection between atoms. They used a plain old quartz crystal (like in a watch) on a tuning fork and glued it on. Like the world's smallest victrola record player…. or the world's tiniest computer.^
