I’m referring two things: the biological religiosity (the “awe and wonder”) and also a very real need to provide alternatives for those who are more religious in general.
Current efforts feed a certain amount of innate religiosity. The Science shows do a lot of it. I give them a lot of credit for solving that part of the issue. Carl Sagan was a master of it. So is Neil deGrasse Tyson, Morgan Freeman, and Brian Cox just makes me want to fly to the stars.
These are ALL utilizing the religious centers of the brain.
They’re a basic part of our cognitive structures.
We can’t reason our way out of them. They’re just… there.
You have to do _something_ productive with them. A lot of good efforts so far. I’m just bringing up ideas, even if they seem ridiculous.
