There’s left, center, right. I claim John Cleese as anti-authoritarian, anti-religion, anarchist, individualist – all leftist things.
? Right wing is totalitarian, left wing is anarchist / individualist.
Maybe y’all are REALLY disgruntled hippies.
My mom read Mother Earth News before they went glossy and I read them as they sat on the top of the toilet as a kid.
Those hippies all had guns, wanted to be left alone, survivalist, wrote about American liberties and stuff.
Point is y’all are disgruntled anarchist hippies.
Probably the only diff btwn most in this group and me is I’m Libertarian Left rather than Libertarian Right.
(another name for Libertarian is Anarchist)
Saying krass things doesn’t make you conservative. Carlin was far from a conservative Anti govt, anti religion, anti FCC — but it also made fun of vegans and feminists too. He’s about as left-wing as it gets. Unless somebody switched definitions around and I missed it?
Comedy’s not dead. What’s happened though is stuff that used to be jokes people are actually carrying out for real.
TheOnion can’t be outrageous enough to compete with what’s ACTUALLY being said and done by high level politicians.
Libertarian right is focused on economic anarchy. Libertarian left is focused on social anarchy. Both are a “live and let live” but with different ways to look at things.
You won’t find too many libertarian left in political positions.
“Social, as in not individual. Artificial social structure requiring force to implement. I hold libertarian left doesn’t exist.”1stA: “Right to Peaceful Assembly”.
Voluntary social assembly is a thing. It doesn’t need force for folks of free will to gather as like minds.
I’m not looking to convert anybody. It’s not a religion of mine. It’s just how I carry myself, how I think.
