There are ways to verify identity that the counties use now that protect people’s privacy rights just like the IRS verifies identities to allow people to pay taxes if even they are undocumented or are otherwise in the gray area of things.
Not every federal agency needs to be an immigration office—
I don’t know what your stance is really on this.
I see a mixture of ideas all mixed together. Personal experiences mixed with stories mixed with things overheard that may or may not be true and I’m trying to get to brass tack facts.
But this is about how you feel about certain things and I’ll respect that and leave it at this. Sorry for being pushy.
Should the Federal government issue IDs for all citizens to guarantee their right to vote within a voter ID system?
There should be no hurdles for citizens to vote
That allows for loopholes the states can prevent people from voting by. If it’s federal voting and a federal right it must be a federal id.
Governors play stupid games that affects Federal voting rights. It’s nothing new but it’s getting bad again.
Australia not only issues everybody an ID but makes voting mandatory.
To be honest, I like that idea. But it wouldn’t fly in the USA as the right-to-not-vote is held more sacred than the right-to-vote for a lot of people.
