There are degrees of friendship. There is no need for enemies.

I don’t have enemies. People may consider me *their* enemy; I can’t help that. But I consider them my friends.
Why would they care so much to combat me if they didn’t wish we were friends instead?
Why the effort to wipe out an enemy if it wasn’t an inverted friendship?

The opposite of a friend is someone who doesn’t care.

Then again, sometimes friendship is not judging. So to me, anybody can be a friend.
