There are abusive activities that occur in schools. Fact.

Religions and Schools are abusive. Partially but not entirely.

This was my point.

I don’t see abusive activity in the meme. The girl is a part of a play. They also have plays in school. Are plays abusive? If they put real nails through her wrists? Sure. If a sandbag falls on her head? Sure.

But there’s safety requirements that prevent that.

Some examples of abuse in some Christian sects:
“You’re going to hell if you don’t do what I say”: Abuse.
Some examples of abuse in schools:
“You’ll never finish school and be stupid for the rest of your life if you don’t pay attention to me now”: Abuse.

One by one correlates can be found between both of fictions can be found.

At the same time:
“God created the heavens and the earth in 7 days. That is metaphorical as we know that evolution is the name of the process of God’s handiwork.”

Is *that* abusive teaching? Maybe, maybe not. I’m agnostic, but that’s what they taught me in the Methodist church as a kid. God or no God there was no contradiction in my mind presented there and no abuse.

Yet: “The Universe is 6000 years old and anybody who tells you otherwise is a heathen who is doomed to hell”: THAT is abuse. I first heard anybody say THAT when I was in my 20s or so. I thought they were joking.
