I probably am off on past wars – I suspect you’re right. I “just missed” the Vietnam War. I remember the Carter/Reagan transition (I was like 8) and remember finding the “dark horse” guy interesting… because he was a 3rd choice. John Anderson. Still remember his name. Wanted to know more about his horse.
I had fear of bombs vaporizing me while I slept or was at school, drew exploding nuclear bombs as doodles.
Then saw the wall tumbling down and I was like, “Nice. We humans can do anything”.
The rest has been yucky stuff that reminded me of the early 80s central america things. Awkward affairs that didn’t make much sense. This whole terrorism thing is an awkward affair that doesn’t make much sense. [well it does make sense, but it’s stupid and most people get the reasons _wrong_]
Yeah, I stopped watching TV about two years ago, except for Doctor Who. [sometimes I sit in on another person’s show but almost never the news].
I catch enough of it on Facebook. I learned to only care about the news that concerns the people I care about.
Then I research and try to figure out a way to explain things where they don’t have to be overly worried.
