The thing is I don’t always believe my priors. this is one of the reasons why I’ve been skeptical of Bayesian for so many years: since the process doesn’t seem to work as well with me I found it hard to fathom that it works for anybody else and then the whole thing is a mistake. but now that I’ve seen a use of bayesian for ocd where the priors are discounted – in this example, I’ve seen this before but it doesn’t bring anything up to me as bad – and I evaluate it fresh from this instance. in OCD, The rituals may be a result of not trusting the past so it must be rechecked several times in the present.
