The sad part about it is that whereas previously it seemed as if he was mocking his local culture “in good humor” – the yoga people, the vegan, the beach-goers in his town.
Mocking lifestyle exaggerations is fine when it’s the kind of “We’re laughing at ourselves and it’s ok” variety.
But since he went all “WAKE UP SHEEPLE!”, it seems that maybe his past humor WAS meant to be cruel – and that’s a shame.
