“the right hemisphere is able to compensate for the loss of left hemisphere function, but not vice versa.”

I was looking up Egocentric neglect vs Allocentric neglect, which led me to looking at strokes which led to a shocker to me about right strokes vs left strokes:

“the right hemisphere is able to compensate for the loss of left hemisphere function, but not vice versa.”

I’m “left visioned” which makes my vision “right sided” but i’m “right hearing” which makes my hearing “left sided”.

I looked at the reference paper and I’ve got some digging to do. It’s definitely related to the part of the brain I’m studying right now – retrosplenial cortex as it translates Allo and ego centric coordinates (contextual vs fixed navigation/memory)

“the right hemisphere is specialized in processing metric information according to egocentric frames of reference”
